Cuernavaca FORUM is a non-for profit citizen's platform dedicated to the generation and exchange of ideas, models, alternatives and solutions to issues of urban security while enhancing the quality of life of citizens. The platform is a civil response to the emergent challenges of urban security, an effort to build collective efficacy and regain the social control of space in the city.

Our Mission is to strengthen independent, informed, proactive and demanding citizen's participation around urban issues affecting the environment and the quality of life of Cuernavaca. Also to serve as a plural and independent space gathering academics, governmental officials, civil organizations as well as individuals engaged in fostering democracy, human rights observance, and social equity.

Our Vision is to position Cuernavaca as one of the cities with the best quality of life according to international standards, with reduced crime indexes and an active, varied cultural life.

Cuernavaca FORUM is a long-term commitment to enhance security and the quality of life of citizens of Cuernavaca, funded by the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT).  The project maintains strong links with the UC Berkeley Boalt School of Law, the  Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management at the University of Harvard, El Colegio de Mexico, and is based at the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morelos, under the direction of Professor Alfonso Valenzuela Aguilera.
